Certified Flight Instructor in Northern California
Adam Huynh
Flight Instructor – CFI
Flying well starts long before the wheels leave the ground.
As your instructor, my focus is on helping you make good decisions: reading the weather, knowing your limits and the airplane’s, and having the judgment to say “not today” when it matters.
Safety isn’t something we memorize. It’s a way of thinking we build together. I want you to understand why things work, not just recite answers, so the knowledge is there when you need it most.
Over 7 years as a physical education teacher, I’ve learned that people learn best when they trust the person beside them. We’ll grow together, lesson by lesson, until the confidence you feel in the cockpit is truly your own.
MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHYFour Pillars of How I Teach
My goal is to help you become a thoughtful, safe pilot who trusts your own judgment, in the airplane and out of it.
GOOD DECISIONSThink Like a Pilot
Every lesson is built around aeronautical decision-making. We’ll read real weather, weigh the risks, and talk through real scenarios so you know when to go, when to wait, and why.
SAFETY FIRSTSafety Is a Mindset
Checklists matter, but safety goes deeper. I’ll teach you to stay ahead of the airplane, notice when something doesn’t feel right, and build habits that protect you on every flight.
REAL UNDERSTANDINGLearn the Why
Instead of rote memorization, we’ll connect what’s in the books to what you see and feel in the airplane. When you understand why something works, you’ll remember it when it counts.
GROWING TOGETHERConfidence in the Cockpit
Seven years of teaching PE showed me that trust comes first. I’ll meet you where you are, celebrate your progress, and build confidence alongside you, one flight at a time.
